To Depicted What is There project

In this series, I create improvisational paintings using motifs found in the vicinity of each exhibition venue. The problem lies in how I select the subjects from among the countless motifs. All subjects have their own meanings that derive from their historical backgrounds. In some cases, the forms of subjects function to convey messages that transcend their original meanings.

Any motif can be transformed into a work of art. But my interest lies in discovering the value that is inherent in a motif, rather than its value in the external world.
