Reel To Reel:

In 2018, I received a grant from the Japanese Government’s Cultural Section to research the NYC avant-garde scene during a year-long residency.

After Jonas passed away, I continued filming his friends, family, the Anthology Film Archives (which he founded), the Jonas Mekas Archives, his funeral, and the poetry project over the next few years.

Six years later, as a Jonas Mekas Foundation Fellow, I traveled to Lithuania to make a pilgrimage to Mekas’ birthplace and his final resting place.
After visiting his grave, I felt something was finished, but at the same time, I sensed that something new was beginning. At this moment, I decided to use my documentation to create a feature film about my research on Jonas, focusing on his connections and poetry.

Film was taken between 2018 since now.
